The assessment methodology used by EcoVadis is based on internationally recognized sustainability standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative and the United Nations’ Global Compact; it is therefore possible to compare different management systems. Companies are assessed in four areas: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. More than 90,000 companies have been assessed by EcoVadis and thus contribute to a transparent assessment of their sustainability activities.
With its products, systems and services in the areas of temperature-controlled supply chains and thermal energy efficiency, va-Q-tec has been making an active contribution to increasing energy efficiency not only internally but also at its customers since it was founded over 20 years ago. By means of the use of vacuum insulation panels (VIPs), the energy used in buildings, pipes and also in the automotive area, refrigerators and freezers can be reduced significantly. With the assessment by EcoVadis, va-Q-tec is giving its customers a transparent insight into its sustainability management.
Dr Joachim Kuhn, CEO and founder of va-Q-tec, is pleased with the rating: “Climate change and dwindling resources are one of the greatest challenges of our time. With our products, we can significantly reduce the energy consumption in numerous industries and in this way contribute to the protection of our climate and resources. For this reason I am very pleased about this very positive assessment by EcoVadis, however, I also see this assessment as a motivation to improve further in the future“.
