Würzburg, 03 April, 2023: va-Q-tec, a leading provider of thermal packaging solutions for temperature-controlled logistics, is growing and expanding its presence in Singapore. On April 3, 2023, the company moves into a new, larger location in the west of the city.
In 2018, va-Q-tec had opened its first site in Singapore. The new location triples the capacities and enables growth beyond that in the coming years. In the future, more than 50,000 packaging boxes per year can be dispatched from the new site in Singapore. This means that temperature sensitive pharmaceuticals and medical devices from the more than 100 multi-national healthcare and pharmaceutical companies with production sites in Singapore can be shipped all over the world. va-Q-tec’s high-performance thermal packaging solutions ensure temperature stability for up to 10 days without the need for external energy supply.

Dr. Joachim Kuhn, founder and CEO of va-Q-tec says: “Singapore is one of the most important locations for pharmaceutical companies from all over the world in the APAC region. Since 2018, we have already sold and rented thousands of our high-performance thermal transport boxes and containers in the region. Our new and larger location reflects our growth and is also an investment in the future. Many pharmaceuticals require safe temperature-controlled transport, which we can guarantee with our high-tech boxes in an energy-efficient way.”

Wallace Tay, Managing Director of va-Q-tec in Singapore adds: “With our high-performance thermal packaging and experienced technical customer service team, we meet all customer requirements quickly and according to their individual needs. The number of our transport boxes and containers sold and rented in Singapore has increased by a double-digit percentage every year so far. We are keeping up with this momentum with the new location.”

For the German headquartered and globally active company, Singapore is an important gateway to the growing Asian market. In addition to Singapore, China, India, Japan and Korea are regional markets for va-Q-tec in Asia. The company also has several subsidiaries in Europe, the USA and Latin America. The company’s passive temperature-controlled transport solutions are sustainable and energy-saving. Since 2020, va-Q-tec has been operating in a CO2-neutral manner. The reusable transport boxes are almost fully recyclable. va-Q-tec is nominated for the “EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year” award in 2023.

About va-Q-tec

va-Q-tec is a pioneer of advanced solutions and services for thermal energy efficiency and temperature-controlled supply chains. The company develops, manufactures and markets thin, highly efficient vacuum insulation panels (“VIPs”, “super insulation”) for insulation and intelligent temperature storage elements (“PCMs”) for reliable temperature control. By combining VIPs and PCMs, va-Q-tec manufactures thermal packaging systems (containers and boxes) that can maintain constant temperatures without external energy supply for up to 200 hours. In a global partner network, va-Q-tec maintains a fleet of rental containers and boxes that can be used to meet demanding thermal protection standards in logistics chains. The company is climate-neutral at all ten international locations since 2021. Permanent process optimizations and the support of valuable offset projects minimize the CO2 footprint of the solutions and services. In addition, va-Q-tec’s products themselves ensure a significant increase in thermal energy efficiency and thus make a valuable contribution to climate protection. Founded in 2001, the fast-growing company is headquartered in Würzburg, Germany and employs over 650 people at 12 locations worldwide.
