7 x 7 minutes Science at the Science Slam 2019

Friday night, va-Q-tec founder and CEO Dr. Joachim Kuhn presented at the Alumni 7×7 min Science Slam at the Julius-Maximilians Universität Würzburg. He was one of seven slammers that each had exactly seven minutes to present a scientific topics in their field to the audience of around 800 people. Dr. Kuhn’s presentation was about the core innovation at va-Q-tec – vacuum insulation and which opportunities this innovation has and will give society. After the presentations the winner was found based on a ranking done via a decibel meter and the „Slammer“ with the loudest applause from the audience was the winner. The presenter of this year’s competition was Johannes Keppner from Radio Gong while the winner from last year Prof. Markus Fischer did the introduction. It was Prof. Dr. Karsten Kilian from the FHWS Würzburg-Schweinfurt that could leave as the Science Slam 2019 winner based on the enthusiasm from the audience. Since 2015, Würzburg University has successfully hosted the Science Slam and this year’s Alumni Science Slam was in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and the city of Würzburg. Dr. Joachim Kuhn was very excited to participate in the completely sold out event and has been happy to support this initiative that promotes science in a new and different way.
